    APBA 2 stroke single pipe drags

    Currently Tim and the APBA offer a (unlimited 2 stroke single pipe) class for the radar runs only at the Hydrodrags.
    Any ported 2 stroke engine puts it into the unlimited category and makes it non competitive with all the super and turbo charged skis in that class.
    There are 9 years worth of single pipe GPRs out there, either carbed or EFI, any bore and stroke configuration, nitrous allowed. The only basic rules are 2 stroke engine and single pipe exhaust.
    If Tim and the APBA were to offer a class for the Unlimited 2 stroke single pipe in the drag racing venue at the upcoming Hydrodrags events, would you enter? Yes or No.
    With all the GPRs alone out there, it should make for a very competitive class with extremely close racing, and give is 2 stroke guys new life in the drags.
    2 stroke single pipe Seadoos, Kawis and Polaris would also fit into this class.
    Please vote honestly as Tim and the APBA will be able to gauge interest for the class.

    Instead of single pipe it should be stock pipe,s There are lots of aftermarket single pipes and some stock triple pipes from the factory stock.

    Single pipe.... Simplicity of rule enforcement is paramount. Looking at a ski and seeing it only has a single pipe is the way it has to be.
    Aftermarket single pipes are ok.
    This thread is to vote on the addition of the (Unlimited 2 stroke single pipe) class to the drag racing venue, not to debate on what you think the class should be. Since the class already exists in the radar run portion, it would be a simple expansion of it into drag racing.

    You could add the Tampa crew, Texas crew and my crew and you
    could have a full class without even blinking a eye. There's no reason
    why you shouldn't have this class.

    No reason to include NOS, it would have the same performance are
    more than triples.

    The NOS simply falls into the Unlimited category rules Ben, thats all..NOS can be used now in the radar runs legally..

    Okay, a lot of people want different classes, and we do understand, but first we need to fill the classes we have now. We can't water it down right now.

    Classes we will consider in the future includes:
    Box Stock
    Unlimited - Two-stroke
    Unlimited - non Turbo

    If we do this next year - we will include the Speed Alley in the Overall Championship picture too.

    We are disappointed with the Vintage turn out. Talking about how many GPRs there are out there... how many 1997 and prior modified PWC are out there? 100,000 + ? why aren't there more in that class? all of their speeds are really close and all would be competitive.

    Remember this is still very new and we are fine tuning it. We are happy with how the last event flowed, as it went over 100% better than in the fall. BUT we need to fill the brackets with racers before we can grow. We want to offer big payouts but if the event doesn't pay for itself, that makes it hard and can suck the energy out of the effort.

    We ask right now that people simply show up and compete, people might be surprised on how they do. Success in the HydroDrags is at least 50% dependant on coming off of the Launch Pad clean. The fastest boat on Radar doesn't guarentee a HydroDrag win.

    Do understand that we are open and listenning - most of the time.

    Location – Location – Location
    An event on one side of the country is going to be limited, you should really look at doing this somewhere a bit more centralized such as Mud Bud/ Morgan City. I don’t know if you where around in the old Riva forum days but everyone one always “talked” about having an event. Everyone loved the idea but everytime it fell apart due to location. Mud Bug came along with its more centralized location and was instant success. I would highly recommend Morgan city and now that there are no official radar runs at MudBug this would be a perfect opportunity for Hydrodrags to step in. We didn’t do it last year because of the water level but prior MudBugs were radar runs followed by drag racing. You will have more than enough participants. What more can you ask for,,,,,
