older oil pumps
I have been asking a lot of questions to help out my 97 760 ( Older and slower yamaha's need help also)
The oil pump on my ski does it pump out the same amount of oil a idle and wide open? Ski smokes bad after a idle and then wide open (using yamaha lube Synthic ) would it be be better to go to pre mix? what ratio?
Ski acts like it is loaded up after take off.
Any ideas welcome
P.S. Ski hooks up a lot better withe R&D intake grate now

your pump will deliver a predermined amount depending on your throttle position.
When you pull your throttle---you are actually pulling two cables - one for fuel and one for oil delivery. The less throttle pulled = the less oil , and so on.

The 760's didn't have the variable rate pumps. I switched my old Waveblaster 2 to premix got rid of most of the bog and the smoke. If I had known about Jetworks then it would have been different.
Everyone has a different opinion. I like premix.
