    Premix Oil

New here and didn't see this posted sorry if it is already. Had a mechanic look over my ski befor I go out in 2 weeks and the subject came up about oil injection since his brother just bought one with a blown motor due to the oil pump quitting. He installed a new motor with a block off plate to use premix, I got to thinking thats not a bad idea my 99 gsx limited has 63 hours on it and he got looking at my pump with a mirror and noticed the cable was hanging on by 1 strand (count myself lucky it didnd sieze on the last trip) He removed the pump cut off the gear shaft resealed and plugged the lines and now I'm going to premix. I've heard you are only to use the spx-2 synthetic oil in your premix @ 40-1 is this correct? thanks I've already learned a ton on this site in 2 visits great place!

Actually, I'm sorry, I spoke incorrectly. When I was premixing I was using something else. I went back to injection and started using Interceptor. I've been buying that for so long I forgot I even did something different.

Go ahead and use that then when you run out you can run the AMSOIL. You may as well run that since you have it. Just PM me for a price quote.

Should have fixed the injection system. Premix is a pain and hopefully will be done correctly each and every time. 40:1 is what the injection pump puts out at WOT so that is what you will have to premix at and burn more oil than needed at slower speeds.

BTW it would have sprung open to the WOT position had the cable broke so no harm done.

Should have fixed the injection system. It gets annoying to mix every time you put gas in.

premix is cheap insurance, ditch the pump before lines fail and you lose a motor!
