pulling pump.. put back in or leave off

So saturday ill be pulling my pump for first time and taking impeller off. My question is if I'm sending prop out and not putting back in for a month. Do I leave the whole pump dissassembled or should I put it back just without an impeller.. If not do I need to put somethin in to support the shaft that would just be sitting there.. Or leave it

You can leave it disassembled, Just cover it with a towel to keep the dust off it and per the drive shaft; I usually stick a towel in the tunnel to keep the shaft from banging around in case I'm taking it somewhere..

leave it.... unless you're towing it like Alex said there is no reason to re-install anything unless you just HAVE TO be wrenching on something.

You're golden man... I read a post on here the other day about the exact same thing. Consensus was DS hanging isn't going to hurt anything unless your towing.

Better time spent would be checking out your pump bearings, DS slpines, and anything else pump related.

Go ahead and change to a skat seal as long as you have the pump off. It makes a world of a difference on the whole shot.

You can get them here from Jerry
