Finally gave in and bought a pair of STX-15F's

It's official. Today I brought home a pair of new Kawasaki STX-15F's. The wife loves hers, and I have to admit I'm amazed at these things!
I guess I've migrated to the 4 stroke world.

My old Polaris rides still have a spot in my heart that will never be replaced! I may keep one of them, just for old time sake!

All are still for sale, so far.
    Tom

5 years and almost 300 hours later I haven't regretted a moment in buying mine. We actually sold a pair of '96 900 zxi's and bought a pair of 15f's ourselves in 2004. My wife loved hers for many years but then decided she wanted more of a cruiser and traded in for a HO. She still misses the quickness of the 15f but deals with it to cruise through the chop.

Your riding it in fresh water I assume. I don't see any problems you would have with that year. They have had a few problems with hoses and I had an issue with an inlet that corroded away but all my problems have really been due to salt water and places too hard to rinse completely. The ski is pretty set up to ride for a long time. Unfortunately you have to do the winterize thing with yours I assume by looking at where you are. Break it in change the oil and then you just need to do routine maintenance and I expect at least 800 hours on mine.

+1 for the reliability of these things! I ride a lot but not as much as you southerners who can go all year round. In 2 years i've put 150 hours on one of my 15F's but then again i can only ride 3 months per year because any more than that and your nuts begin to hate you. Fires on the the very first crank everytime no matter what. I've got all 150 hours on the RPM kit too and it runs better than when it had 20 hours on it now that she's been around the block. haha.
