    2010 Corvette Grand Sport!

Chevrolet announced today that it will bring the Grand Sport moniker back to the Corvette lineup for the 2010 model year.

The 2010 Corvette Grand Sport will replace the previous Z51 package and brings a greater degree of handling performance, with wider wheels and tires, revised shock, stabilizer bar and spring specifications and specific gearing.

The new Grand Sport combines the Corvette’s LS3-based powertrain with unique, wide-body styling and a racing-bred suspension for a distinctive model that delivers a great balance of road and race track performance. It is offered in both coupe and convertible body styles, with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The LS3 6.2L engine is rated at 430 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque with the standard exhaust system. An optional two-mode exhaust system elevates the power ratings to 436 hp and 428 lb-ft.

The last time Chevrolet offered a Grand Sport model was in 1996. All of the 1,000 limited-edition vehicles were painted Admiral Blue and featured a white centre stripe and red “hash mark” graphics on the left front fender, a graphic scheme that mimicked the look of some of the original race cars from the 1960s.
Looks pretty sharp! Would be an awesome car to buy and throw an s/c on!

No they haven't. Show me the press release

Word on the street is that the C7 won't even show up until 2012+ anyways because of the economic situation GM faces. Let alone it being a mid engine car...

Besides, why would they want to mid mount it when the ZR1 is one of the Kings of the Nuremberg Ring?

Could be BS. I read it in super chevy a couple months back.

The mid mound looked pretty crazy tho.

I refuse to believe that GM will go to a mid mount in any of their current performance vehicles. This is America. We run high displacement V8's, front mount, rear wheel drive vehicles when it comes to performance and muscle. It's fun keeping this combo with the ZR1 and showing up all the super cars from around the world.

As far as the C7 last I heard GM has no plans for it. They aren't even thinking about it until they can sort this current mess out. IF they can sort it out and it's not looking good. Pontiac could very well be gone as of tomorrow.

Only change I have heard about when it comes to the Vettes is that the LS7 will not be around much longer. I haven't seen anything official on this, but it's what I've been told. NA motors are $$$ and the power can be made up with FI for less $$$.

I bet you saw one of those. All very cool, but just rumors, concepts, or one offs.

No, that is the Corvette Centennial Concept. Bob Lutz said there was, and is, no intention to produce the car.

    Just google it
