    2000 XLL PROP

I've been working on all the parts to set-up a stage one kit for my 2000 XLL 1200 and have come across a 14/20 Solas that has been bent to 11/18 that someone is selling. The seller says it was bent by Island racing. I know that the stage 1 kits usually say 12/18. What loss/gains would i get with the 11/18 setup. (IN EMAIL FROM SELLER SAYS 11/18 BUT ON THE FORUM HE SAYS 12/18 )
    Thx

Thats a good prop for your XLL; what all mods are you doing to it?

Pretty much a stage 1. Prop,Ride Plate, D plate, temp sensor, grate, pump seal, free flow. Everything except the head for now.

that prop might be to much for a stage 1 XLT, most of the time its a 13/19 that has been depitched to a 12/18 not a 14/20 that has been depitched. especialy without a head....you would get a better holeshot, hookup, and a little bit on top with a new prop, give Carl at long island a call and he would be able to answer any and all questions you have on props for the XLT.

So my best bet without new head (don't want to crack the motor just yet) is go with the solas 12/18 unbent? I know its not going to make alot of skis quiver but if it gets over 60ish i'd be happy, really would just like to beat my friends stock STX15F. For now..LOL

the 13/19 depitched to a 11/18 that Chip has for sale would work well in the XLT...if your rpms are to low with the setback all you would have to do is add a washer to it to make it a non-setback...you should be over 60 with that prop and the mods you have listed...

I wouldn't bother including a free flow? (you will go slower and be noisier)

    Phillip,

Seen you post alot about the Free Flow, When would it be beneficial then, what mods would make it worth the $$$.

    Thx.

    Waveraider,

Thanks, I saw that prop too. Waiting on the plate b/4 I spend any more $$$. have a 34 foot Regal that likes my $$$ too.

Good thing I sold the Crownline..LOL..

I too have seen Phillip bash the Free Flow exhaust every chance he gets and I think that he is right to an extent. The Free Flow usually costs some topend RPM's and it is significantly louder.... from what I have been told by numerous people, and somebody PLEASE correct me if I am wrong on this, but you don't really need to use the Free Flow exhaust until after you do heads because one of its main benefits is how it helps to fight detonation caused by the higher compression. So in summary, it might not help you out much now... it might even hurt your top end some, but when it comes time for you to add a head upgrade you already have it done.
