pump corrosion on the inner surfaces

Still pretty new to this all, but making progress in replacing the impeller and rebuilding the pump (cone had lots of water in it); waiting for the rebuild kit, tools and the refurb impeller this week.

My question: This is a salt water machine 2002 GTX 4-Tec (when I am done with this one I will move onto the other one which is fresh water only) the venturi and nozzle are heavily corroded and deeply pitted. Do I just put it all back together and let it continue to rot or do I prime and paint?

    making progress - 2 questions

    1) I have the impeller off and I can not find a part number anywhere on it. It needs to be refurbed. I am assuming this is after market
    2) With the pump apart the impeller shaft does not turn in the main bearing, I am assuming I need a new shaft along with a pump rebuild kit, correct?

you can sandblast or sand down rough spots, prime and paint. it will look like new
you should just look for a used 2004 or newer aluminum pump housing. swap it in, normally they sell complete, just put on your impeller and go.
can be bought for 250-350 usually.
look for a used solas impeller or OEM from your ski, they can be hd very cheep.
    solas 120ish
    oem 50-75ish.
most people are swapping out for upgraded parts, so there old oem stuff is almost worthless
    just get the right prop...
    is yours a 155hp, 185 hp, or 215hp???? 4tec correct???

also available are tons of the older plastic impeller housings , like you have, could getone of those instead of the aluminum housing, for 100-200.
post up in the classifieds WTB pump housing for 2002, plastic or aluminum, and impeller.
    you will get responses
i have a mint 185hp impeller i coud sell ya but i think you need the 155hp unit.
the solas would be an 11/19 for the 155 hp skis.
solas 12/20 for the 185 hp skis, there is a 12/20 right now in te classifieds

02 in the NA 155 hp only.
The solas replacement is a 11/19 prop.
I would think that there'd be lots of good used
    oem props out there.
I don't think having the 04+ alum pump housing is a must
on the NA 155 engines.. Just the 185 s/c engines would
flex the plastic pumps (2003). The oem plastic pump will
work fine. ( i've got 1 too since I upgraded to alum).
