Exclamation Opening up the D plate

Would there be any performance gain if I enlarged the D plate opening a small amount on a stock motor?

I don't think anyone has tried it. It's typically something people do on highly modded engines. My ski (before getting sick) was doing a few ticks over 80 with an unmodded D plate.

Maybe someone else will chime in...

opening a dplate is like installing a free flow. you're reducing backpressure which will generate lowend torque but decreased topend. don't open it up until you can produce more power. i have a ported 1300 and my dplate is not opened up.

yes but if you used an opened up D plate you would go faster

on a stock 1200, as already suggested, a stock d plate works fine

^^^ And there you go. Phillip has tested just about everything on these skis. Listen to him.

I won't be opening mine up till I get the rossnemo tb's. I want to make sure my ski will have enough power to open the dplate up. I'm happy with my 81+ mph ski.
