    Removing Starter Relay...What socket size???

Quick question. I removed the 2 nuts holding the starter relay to the support bracket. But I can't seem to find the right size socket to remove the nuts from the 2 cables connected to the relay terminals. 10mm is too big and won't fit inside the red plastic cable end, and 3/8 - 11/16 seems too small....can anybody help???

It is 10mm you have to force it on to expand the plastic.

Alright...I'll try that again. Do you happen to know what size socket is needed to disassemble the factory steering column plastics?

I think it is 5.5mm but a 7/32 sort of works (deepwell 5.5s are sort of rare).

This is from memory and I am pretty sure that 6mm is just a bit too big.

5.5 is correct. but i used 7/32 because i had it in 3/8 drive. i hate using a 1/4 drive wratchet. just tore down an RXT for a conversion build and i didn't even know their was a 5.5 mm until i was fitting sockets from my tool box to the bolts.

I just used a 7/32 socket. The bolts didn't require a lot of torq to remove, so it worked without rounding them. Thanks!

5.5mm 1/4" drive socket and/or Nut Driver can be bought at Sears or ordered from mcmaster.com
