    Help cleaning riva's intercooler/clogged

    have an 2006 rxt with a stage 2. the ski was overheating so my mechanic told me it was the intercooler. what is the best way to unclogged them. some people said salt away but this ski has never seen salt water.
    please help

    I remember Jerry saying to use air conditioner cleaner from the harware store. Check the SeaDoo FAQ board for more information... Ron

    yup.

    this has been discussed before, some have luck cleaning them themselves others pitch them get a new one and add a strainer, strainers and intercoolers are in the online store, search the threads for cleaning of an intercooler, there was a good write up a while back, I had luck sending mine to :

    try flushing the i/c backward mine was over heating every time i got into the throttle so i drilled out the restricter washer also behind the pump

    That washer I took out by 2mm, and I have not had a problem yet.

    Oh, and buy a filter for sure, it has trapped all sorts of crap from getting in my water system. The Groco is good quality equipment bought from GH, seems like it was designed for Seadoo.

    As fiz said in above post-- Throw it in the garbage!! it's junk... caused me soo many headaches on the water that I can't even start to count them all By an XS for cheap and be done with it!! I promise you'll be happy
