    as promised.. that 550 sx build is here!

    well just got the besast for $50.. shes still sitting in my car..

    havn't thought of a good name yet so you guys can help me out with that one haha



    heres some pics of what im up against...

    im thinking of engine swap.. got a 650 motor in the garage i just rebuilt and am planning on a high compression head, new carbs, replace the reeds, new rideplate/intake grate, CONVERT MIXED!!!!, new mats, paint, exhaust, possibly new impeler, FINGER THROTTLE for sure!! and def. by making that work off keys... theres no way im letting that be a non keyed ski. lemme know if you have any other advice for the ski!

    i saw that thread... i have a 900 stx im watching what you do in hopes that i will after my stand up project haha XD

    working on it!

    sooo i finally couldnt help myself and i got into tearing down the old ski.... though id like to paint it now im going to wait and see if i can actually do what i want to on it first.... besides the guy i got it from didnt have papers on it.... he got it from a guy who got it from a guy..... im almost afraid that for $50 this thing is stolen....

    either way i could sell off the parts sooo i took everything out besides the waterbox and the cdi and am cleaning the inside of the ski.. heres what we got so far.....

    lookin good man ! keep us posted with your build. i just finished my rebuild today actually. picked her up from being tank tuned. 1990 550sx. what were you thinking on doing with painting her ?

    just so no one gets confused... the motor on the right is my new 650cc the motor on the left is the old 550.... im just going to steal the carb from the 550 and put it on the 650.

    very nice... i like the pipe alot!!!!!


    i was thinking a solid black with copper or bronze flake..... so it gets that reddish tint to it in the sun. aaaaand then doing some green pin striping with maybe just a pinch of silver flake... then adding some graphics and def. putting that old spitfire face on the front.

    you slappin the carb from the 550 on the 650 ? you think the 650 will be gettin enough out of that carb ?

    MAKE SURE TO RE JET ON THE FAT SIDE OF THE MIX, better to un rich and tune down then run lean and blow it up
