Guinness Book Of World Records PWC Record
Over the next several months, John Abbott and myself will be compiling information to see what it will take to set up an attempt for the Guinness Book of World Records to have an official entry and log the PWC speed record to be broken and recorded.
At Mudbug II, The World Record was broken by Kerry Hibdon on a Yamaha GPR at the speed of 88.5 mph. Video and pictures were taken for verification.
I don't know exactly what all is involved, but over the course of the next several months, this should slowly be all compiled.
This past attempt can not be submitted. We have to fill out the application prior to the attempt.
As for a location, we will decide that when we get closer after we get this application process underway.
Here is some information obtained from the guinness website.

Lets get over 90 this time.
Are there going to be other skis there or just Kerry.

That's admirable guys! Another sanctioning body can be approached through Tommy Jordon as he has stated before and is done at Fountain in NC. I think the fee was $1000.
The Fouintain Boys are well familiar with what it takes to set and get sanction for Worlds Records.

How do I become a Guinness World Record Holder?
Setting a Guinness World Record is not an easy task. It requires a great deal of organisation, preparation and attention to detail. We therefore ask you to read the following information carefully as it will explain the process that you have to go through in order to attempt (and hopefully break) a Guinness World Record.
Firstly you will need to complete the online application form.
You will then be sent an email with a ‘key number’ to input on the included website – this is to confirm the email address you have given and ‘unlocks’ your claim and puts it on to our systems.
Please ensure that you allow emails from guinnessworldrecords.com to come through to your inbox as some systems will put it to a junk or bulk mail folder.
When we get to your claim in the queue, you will be sent an email containing a reference number. Please make a note of this number and use it in any correspondence you have with us. You will also find our Record Breakers’ Pack attached to this email. Please be aware that it will take from one to three working days for this email to be sent to you.
Inside the Record Breakers’ Pack, you will find the Agreement Regarding Record Attempts. You must read, sign and send this back to us via the details contained within the email.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL NOT ENTER INTO ANY CORRESPONDENCE REGARDING YOUR CLAIM UNTIL WE HAVE RECEIVED THIS.
Once we have received your signed Agreement, it will then take approximately 4 weeks for us to research and consider your record proposal. Occasionally this may take longer as we may need to external experts. During this period, we may contact you for more information on your attempt in order to make a more qualified judgement on your proposal. Please be assured that we will endeavour to get an answer to you as quickly as possible. If you require a quicker answer you may use our Fast Track service (details of this are on subsequent pages).
Once a decision is made we will send you an email stating our decision. This will be either:
a) A rejection of your proposal – and where we can, we will give more specific details of our decision in this regard.
b) An acceptance of your proposal as a new Guinness World Record category with specific guidelines attached.
c) A suggestion of a record that we already monitor as your proposal is similar enough to the established category.
Once you have received this, you can then plan and make your attempt, following our guidelines. When making an attempt please remember to collect ALL the evidence as outlined in the Record Breakers Pack and the specific guidelines.
You must then send in the evidence in one package, with your CLAIM ID number clearly marked on both the outside of the package and on each piece of evidence you submit.
Once we have received this, it will again take around 4 weeks for us to assess your claim and come to a decision. If unsuccessful, you will be sent an email outlining where the problems with the claim were. If successful, you will be sent a letter and Guinness World Records certificate in recognition of your record breaking achievement.
We would now invite you to print this page for reference and click below to start the application process.
Thank you for your interest in Guinness World Records and good luck!!
