    ? on the metal washers

    Sorry for being such a 4tech sc newb. I came from owning the 951 2 stoke. This is my first 4 stroke engine it like learning all over again!!!! By having the ceramic ones replaced with the metal ones, does that now mean that you don't have to worry about motor damage when they go bad? At most will this mean that you will simply just have slippage when they wear and then have to rebuild?

    Get the Riva washers. If they start to slip you can adjust the slip moment on the clutch w/ a shim. There is a how to on this. If the metal washers fail (which hardly ever happens unless you have the seadoo oem metal washers) they would be much friendlier to the engine verses the ceramics

    I am guessing that when the previous owner had the metal washers put in at the dealership they would be oem. So when you mean fail, Does that mean the motor could get damaged? Like parts going into the motor and breaking timing chain and stuff? or just start slipping badly and then need to get replaced?

    OEM are titanium are I think... and Riva's are not. I just took out OEM 30 hour washers and replaced with Riva washers after reading a thread on here about someones OEM metal washers destroying a motor.

    I got a better slip also..

    2007 = ceramic washers.

    OEM metal washers are coated with a thin layer of titanium. Riva's used to be coated with titanium, but not anymore. It was discovered that titanium slipped a bit too well.
