    Stock intake grate mod question?

    Hello

    Is it true taht cutting the middle bar on the stock intake grate on a 15 F
    Could give speed improvement ? in flat water.

    And if yes, is it realy worth it .

    What could be the gain ??

    i was thinking about cutting out the center bar from my 260x grate, then the very next day i was in the middle of the lake and ran right over a floating tennis ball. i dont think i will touch my grate!

    My thoughts exactly. Major shaft, prop, impeller, pump damage could result from this mod. For 1-3 mph I would skip it bro... JMO

    so all people that use r&d intak grate or riva please change back to stock!!

    what a load of rubbish have a look at any aftermarket grate and count the bars, they all have two not three. at the end of the day its what your happy with and where you ride never had an issue yet but hey thats JM

    Did you had good result from the one that have been homemade modified ?

    they look good.

    Of course you face a risk cutting one bar out, but you also face a risk w/ any mod, whether it's voiding your warranty or making yourself more sucepteble to causing more damage or decreasing reliability. But that's a risk many of us are willing to take by modifying our skis to go fast.
