Coolant bottle came unhooked
I went out on the lake last night. When I got back and popped the seat on my GTI, I noticed the coolant bottle laying on the bottom of the hull. Not sure if it popped out or I didn't snap it in all the way when I changed the bailer hoses to clamps, but I say it popped out on its own . My girlfriend said it never beeped at her or gave off an overheat alarm while we were out. None was spilled anywhere either. Because it was laying in the hull there is no gravity feed of coolant, but I am not sure if it draws it in on its own. Is there something to look for to see if it overheated? Can I tell from the plugs? Also, the coolant bottle is way above the max level line, even after cooling off for hours. Should I take some out even though the level was correct before? Ride it and see if there is air trapped somewhere? Thanks for any help.

It should be OK if it hasnt lost any coolant. I would say it has air in the system thats why the coolant looks over full. secure the coolant tank and take it for a run. when it gets hot the air should come to the top and the coolant level settle down to the correct level.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking I would do. I just wanted tomake sure no one had done this, ran their ski and caused a disaster. I guess we will find out soon enough!
