    1390 w/ Premix and Injection Oil Question

    What does everyone recommend when doing this? I am doing 1oz per gallon of fuel right now.

    why? just take it out. and go 16 ounces/1 pint to 5 gallons...

    Chris I run 45-1 premix amsoil dominator after 270 hrs did a tear down and everything is in perfect shape.. the whole injection thing scares especially if you ride the ruff and Jump.. also from 40-1 to 45-1 I pick up 20 rpms and a couple tenths I know a few who run 50-1 with no probs either.. Just food for thought take it for what it is

    Thats a good question, haha, I am not sure why I did it like that. Right now to remove it would be a major PITA... at least I think? What do I need to remove to do this. Stringer tube for sure. What about the back j-pipe? Or can I do it through the front of the ski?

    I do not like oil injection either. I know of a couple of people where the oil line came off and took out a cylinder. That is how I picked up the conversion ski. Good for me bad for them. I just like pre-mix because I know that I have oil all the time in the engine. Yes it will smoke a little more through the 5 zone. Oh well for the safety I will stick with it.

    I have had 3 1300s in the last 7 months that have had the piston ring jump over the locator pin and trash a cylinder

    all of them were oil injected...

    if you ride in the midrange a lot, then the motor doesnt get full lubrication since the factory oil pumps are variable ratio... like 200:1 at idle and 32:1 at WOT

    So you are saying that the oil pump is good for midrange lubrication, but bad because the lines will pop off?? Or that midrange lubrication isn't good in the midrange with the oil pump.

    re-read what I wrote, I changed it to make more sense

    oh, and they fixed the oil line problem on 03+

    Good to know. I guess they had a lot of issues like my 2001.
