Dean, Last year in my old GPR I tried RIVA sponons, they made my ski handle horribly, I went back to the factory stepped sponsons and the issure was fixed.
I'm sticking with the factory stepped sponsons on my GPRXP.

I've been very happy with the R&D on my conversion and my old ported GPR.

how do the black riva's compare to the r&d and stepped stockers?

The biggest problem with the white Riva sponsons, is the bolt placement from the blade to the backing plate. They tend to pull away at speed, and especially if you dig a corner. They will give a nasty whipping motion to the gpr. It's a very, very easy fix!!! Just install a screw into the blade and backing plate at the front of the sponson. After that the Riva sponson works okay.
...or just get the R&D ones and be done with it.
Danny also makes some that are of the "R&D style" but also incorporate the ability to step them, if you want to get nasty in the turns.
