Modding the stock grate can lead to over stuffing and getting you hurt.

A simple search on this topic brings up lots of good input.

We have a P-X we cut all of the wing out of (to look like a stock 215 grate) and drilled 2 3/8ths holes in the shoe. Ski has right at 50 hours and never a hint of the stuff in any condition. It's fast too.

If you even consider cutting the grate be damn sure you drill those holes or you will go swimming.

i cut and tweaked my grate completely other than the center section between the rails was all i left on my original X and it never hinted at a buck either BUT i also had (2) 3/8" pressure relief holes in my grate and right through the shoe itself as well......BET!!!!!!!!!
