Question on mods for a 15F 2009
Please i need some advice here , as i read that a cold air Intake wont give much from opignions
I still got another 225.00 to put on mod for my 15F
I have already , The wedge, Ride plate, intake grate modified.
Impossible to do the Free Flow cause this is an 2009
so just a single waterbox.
So should i go for a Solas Impeller 14/20 as the stock is 13/19
or still buy the Cold air from R&D at 225.00$

make your own cold air intake and put it in the rear storage bucket. get (1) 90 degree silicon elbow 2.75" ID, (1) 90 degree bend polished alum tube 2.75" OD, and (1) K&N filter w/ 2.75" ID flange. then you'll need a small breather filter for the top of the catch can. total cost about $125

When you said put it in the rear storage bucket do you mean i have to remove the rear bucket or modifiy it to have the filter inside ?
and if i put it inside i will have have to get some fresh air from where ?

use a hole saw and run the pipe into the storage bucket, the filter sits inside the bucket. the 2 black hoses that hang down from the grab handle inside the hull, cut 2 more holes in the back of the bucket down by the bottom and feed those hoses into the bucket. and drill a couple holed in the bottom of the bucket to drain any water that might get in the bucket. be sure to get a waterproof pre filter for the filter aswell.

dont spend money on the R & D air intake. . . I have one you can have. pt# 215-15010. What are you wanting? holeshot or top end? I wouldn't change the prop unless you are running higher RPM's.

did you notice any gain with the R&D ?
cause in there web site they mention about 50 to 100 more rpm and 3 to 4 hp
i know it is probably just marketing..
But there is 2 other model less expensive ?
I think i should build one my self but with no more fresh air , wonder if that could realy make a difference ??

I did notice a difference with the R&D product on my stock 15f. On my other one, I have it out of the hull so it can take in COLD air. I think putting yours in the bucket will have the same effect.
