Beyond OEM S/C on the SHO/FZR?

So, without going to a turbo, what are we going to do? Will we see 25 PSI in the next 1-2 years?

If 17 PSI with the C5 is as far as RD is going to go with the OEM HKS S/C what's next?

    Why Oh Why.

Why stay with a supercharger when it's such a parasite to the motor and loose a given amount of horsepower???? Even at 25psi.
WHY not turbo???? At least it's not parasitic.

    Let the conversing continue!!

I guess it will kind of depend on how far the stock internals can be pushed. I'm not exactly looking forward to popping for pistons and rods but I guess at some point I will.

Look at all the aftermarket supercharger options there are for the sea doo boys. Riva... Rude...

I know that R&D is testing a turbo kit for production...I also heard the same about Riva... somewhere around 450-500hp

Now if they can do a "bolt-on" turbo kit at a reasonable price (cough cough) then we are looking at life after C5.

Motec Pete's SHO turbo motor is doing well in standard form but me thinks it'll wear out kinda quickly after a few hours at 421hp.

What's your best guess on a SHO/FZR/s turbo kit price?

I'm guessing somewhere between $3,000-$5,000...I wouldn't buy it if its more than that. I could build one for less

Remeber to take into account the Yammi sprag SC clutch vs the SD washer system.........we've pretty much seen the limits that the OEM SD washers can take......but the Yammi sprag is yet unproven in a high-boost rec ski.......time will tell.

And agreed.....just do it right....buy forged internals and go turbo....no parasitic drag......no clutch system to fail........and you will dominate all
