    Flame arrestor question.

    I have a 99 gp1200 and was wanting to put the Riva power filter kit on it but it says for PV engine and mines a non-pv. I also read that you have to remove the cat in order to do this? What are the pros and cons of taking the cat off and putting the D-plate on? Mines stock and I'm wanting to start putting some bolt-ons on it. Any adsvice is appreciated!

    Thanks alot man. I know nothing much about these things but have been doing searches and research like crazy here lately on things. I'll start a thread over there and maybe I'll get some help.

    F/A do help but I am still running the stock airbox on my 99

    If that's the Riva FA that is all in one piece (instead of 3 individual FA's) it will not fit. The carb spacing on the older non-pv motors is closer together than the carb spacing of the pv motors.

    Aftermarket for the GP go with individual F/A easiest to work with they do make a Power plenum air filter but i like the individual type
