    SS grate alignment issue-HELP

OK finally bolting on the SS grate and having an issue with the grate being true to the hull. If I bolt the rear of the grate to the pump shoe I have a gap of .2030 in the front. Needless to say if I install the bolts on the front mount it will distort the grate .

Now I have another pump shoe with my R&D 800 grate on it and when I mount it up in the boat front and rear mounts are both flush with the hull.

Both shoes have been trued for being level in the hull equally so I am not sure what is going on.

    Pics attached if it helps.
1st pic is the front mount with a .2030 gap.
2nd and 3rd pic the grates side by side.

first question is, how well is the pump shoe aligned and sealed? have you put a straight edge on either side and checked it with feeler gauges? is it too high or crooked?second statement, always put the front bolts in snug first. then snug the rears align the grate and torque them.

Pump shoe is aligned perfect in my measuring. Shoe is recessed .60 and right now the shoe is being dry fit for alignment. Don't want to glue it in till I am 100% happy.

Have no problem with putting the front bolts in first but still doesn't explain the non-trueness to the hull with the front and rear mounting surface.

I wouldn't question it as much if I didn't have the other shoe and grate that bolted right in and had no issues with being true with the hull.

By the way thanks for the help, I want to get this taken care of ASAP so I can seal the shoe in and get back on the water.

Wow, I guess its just my luck that I am one of the first people to have a intake grate not fit level.

Anyway I have another SS grate I just picked up from a good friend and am going to see how it fits. Just keeping anyone interested updated, more to come.

speed mine is twisted, corkscrewed if that explains it.. stock and 12 and 800 grates all bolt up perfect, and sit true left to right in the front mount recess, but with the ss fitted you can see it running off centre,my front mounts are where you can pick the error up when fitting as you can see the centre front bar twisted off to the right.
0.139(3.53mm) to 0.077(1.97mm)feeler gauged gap from grate to hull each side not sure if i should be concerned
