Help me Troubleshoot!
Ok so I installed the D-plate. No issue putting it all together, was sorta hard to get the stinger out but besides that it was easy.
So I have the pipe back in, I crank it over with the water hooked up and starts right off the bat. I thought the idle was a little high at 1500rpm. I made sure my throttle wasn't stuck or anything and it isn't. I turned it off checked the plugs and they look normal, a little wet with fuel and oil thoough. I crank it to make sure there isn't any water in the motor and no water came out. So no water, plugs are good, throttle isn't stuck and it idles a t 1500rpms. So I turn it back on and it is idling in the same place expect this time I let it run a little longer and the idle kept on getting higher Highest it got was 2500. So what do you guys think the problem is? Where should I look first? Or is this normal for a d-plate install and I just need to go out and run the hell out of it to let the ecu get use to it?

Put it in the water and see.

that is where mine idles and I like it. I can go like 3 mph in a no wake zone instead of 1.5mph

I like idle around 1240 or so if the motor ever runs away out of water pull the lanyard and hold the throttle wide open for it to kill the motor just in case you didn't know

I believe that 1300 in the water is what Yamaha recommends for idle.

Ok, good, looks like I am in good shape. Ski seems to be running good then. First time to wrench on a ski so I'm glad I didn't mess it up!
Now time to install a ride plate and this pump/impeller.
