    4 stroke or 2 stroke

The big decision, 4 stroke versus 2 stroke, going to drop from 4000-5000 on a low hour 1200 xlt, or spend the extra to buy a new old machine from the dealer for about 6000-6500. I do not need anything fancy, it sits on a hoist on a great lake very seldom does the water allow you to go over 50. Used mostly for 3-4 foot wave jumping at 35-40, traveling 10 miles down the beach. Currently have an 800xl (keeping it for when company comes over) and that would be the least performance I would accept, must be a 3 seater. ANY IDEAS PRO OR CON TO HELP ME MAKE MY DECISION, it will be a Yamaha. Last year a storm took it off the hoist and washed it up on shore. Any Ideas Out There.
    Thanks
    Joe

If your looking for a reliable, easy to maintain 3 seat with good gas mileage and a nice cruise I would look at a newer 4 stroke Yamaha VX series(basic model of yamaha) or if you wanna a little bit more horsepower you can look at the HO models.

personally ive always found a 2 stroke easier and cheaper to maintain.
