triple carb to dual carb setup

Is it possible to take a triple carb setup and convert it to a dual carb ?
I could just take the middle carb out of the series and use the linkages from a dual setup and then it should bolt up to a dual carb intake right?

These are carbs from a 1200r going onto a 800r. I know they are the same size, I am just curios if the linkages etc can be swapped to work.

On the 1200r the cable drum is on the fuel side then all the linkage is on the opposite side. The 800r has the drum and linkage all in one and it mounts the opposite of the fuel inlets. If the shafts are the same length on both I would think it would work. The jetting is different between the two.
