Red face Polaris Virage 03 di no fuel at injectors fault

My friend has a virage 2003 , problem being : intermitent engine missfire and check engine warning light coming on , the ski was going on to limp mode but now it will not run at all . Good spark , no fuel at plugs the injector voltage now shows 8.5 volts cranking when it should show between 18 and 21 volts . The dealers digital wrench has cleared all fault codes so why now the low volts which won't open the injectors ??
Tomorrow will check the stator , any help would would be greatfully received .

    Welcome to the Hulk!

Click here for the Polaris Service Manuals.

Per the service manual, check the stator coils using both the static ohm check and the coils output while cranking - three coils should output 7 volts AC each, the other two coils 5 volts AC.

    More test details here

Confirm that the battery is delivering over 10.5 volts while cranking the engine.

Either the stator coils have a problem, or the EMM has failed.

I would expect that it is the EMM that has failed. If you have access to another EMM, it can be swapped in to confirm.

If the EMM needs repair, DFI Technologies can do the work.

    Problem sorted

Discovered that the magnets had broken up in the fly wheel which resulted in damage to some of the coils on the stator . Repaired stator and fitted a new fly wheel , problem sorted .

This seems to be more common recently. We have known that sometimes the six magnets can get loose from the Ficht flywheels, but recently there have been several failures reported here.

I will find a suitable place to add this to the Ficht diagnostics documentation

Glad to hear your Virage is back on the water!
