    Triples What jet in water line? Can I use inserts stingers?

    For a pump gas (92 octane) 135 lbs compression ported 1200 what jets do I want to use in the water line that goes to the end of the pipe by the stinger?

    Is anyone running inserts in the stingers to reduce the diameter on a pump gas ski? If yes, what size?

    Philip, the larger jet the more backpressure you create. Which in turn can yeild higher RPMs on top, however with the increased backpressure you increase your chances of deto. Try moving up jets in small increments and watch your temp. Ive even heard of some running with the jets taken out, but I think this would be dangerous. My pipes had 177.5s in them and I bumped up to a 180 in all the pipes, this is on a 1200 triple non-ported w/ 140 lbs of comp.

    Im not running inserts in the stingers.

    Hi Phillip,

    I'm running the inserts, but I also have the FP water box, 4 inch diameter pipe set up...unless I'm mistaken, you shouldn't run the inserts with the stock waterbox unless you are running race gas...

    does anyone know for sure if the inserts should be used with an unported engine, stock waterbox and race gas i was under the impression the inserts were to be used with a ported engine only.....
    and what should your ideal exit water temps be

    Thanks for the comments so far, does anyone else have any comments on setting up the pipes for pump gas?
