    FZR/FZS tunnel

ok so ive come to learn from Seadoo that the new X-Skis with large Tunnels are weak and cracking up and in some cases sinking the ski...
i also know that this has been somewhat of a problem with the SHO
now considder the FZS/FZR is made of the same stuff as the SHO yet
has a even larger pump.... does anyone know if Yami has learned any
lessons and made the pump tunner stronger? or is it a ticking timebomb

I doubt it, look for a reinforcement to be available. I am at a point were I decided to not ride (my SHO) anymore until I got the reinforcement installed. That said, installed it last night (early this morning) and now I can move forward...

The pump diameters are actually the exact same. 155mm. It's the pump inlets that are enlarged on the FZ models. The FZ's also have some little medal braces on the tunnel for added strength. So far nobody has reported a crack. The SHO is a different story. There have been a couple cracks. I am fitting my reinforcement up this weekend along with a few others. Better safe than sorry.

Will the tunnel reinforcement void the Yamaha warrantee?

I painted the top of mine black. I bet most shops wouldn't even notice it on there. I don't see why it would void it even if they did notice though.

Jerry said that the FZR's intake grate bolts to the transome plate and not the pump tunnel like the SHO's,

thus on the SHO's tunnel when the intake grate is pulled down by he force of the water it puts stress on the tunnel, Where as the FZR's grate is attached to the transome plate there is no added pressure to the tunnel
