Have you 4-stroke boys seen this thread?

Saw this in the 2-stroke forum and it really caught my eye. 1-1.8 mph increase for under $200!!!!?!??!???

Jerry? You getting one of these to test? I have a slight bouncing at WOT and apparently this piece can help that. Could maybe help some other guys bouncing around too.

The pump wedge looks promising! Did you speak with Leo about using the wedge on your SHO?

Yes. Just asked him in that thread.

Sounds awesome. Maybe I'll order one up and test it on the ole SHO. I would be a good candidate since I'm having a slight bouncing issue on top end along with a few others. That is what has kept me from ordering one of Jim's plates. I dealt with porpoising on my old 99 GP1200 and am not happy about having to deal with it again on my new ski.

Seems counterintuitive that a wedge would prevent porpoising. Maybe (in glass) on a setup that is on the verge of being planted and porposing and it helps to keep the nose up but even after that in anything less than glass it would start bouncing easier.

On the FZR we have seen that there is a point of plate angle that the ski goes up and down up down trying to keep the nose up in glass water. I could see the wedge being able to keep the nose up in this situation. But for overall handling and hookup it probably isn't the answer.

What you are describing is exactly what I am experiencing. A slight bounce ONLY at max speed on glass like water. It just can't quite hold the nose up.

Hope this helps, What i noticed on my wifes heavy XLL before the wedge at wide open speed runs it had a slight steady bounce and when i installed the wedge it did not have that bounce plus the ski picked up over a MPH., In normal riding it felt the same with or without wedge. So it's staying on my wife's ski.

Will the reverse bucket clear with the added length with the wedge?

I don't keep my ski at house and have no idea how much clearance there is.
