    MB Water Level

I heard the water level was on the rise again in Morgan City. Does anyone no the status of the water level and what the forecast is (or will be around MB)?

Its gonna get a lot higher soon. I just got 2 inches on saturated ground and looking at another 2 inches tonight. so that means all this water should be in LA by MB

My thoughts exactly. We are sending all this rain down the pipe to MB and it will a bunch of no wake riding again

Don't start this "the world is coming to an end" crap

This is nothing compared to last year:

It's MORE than a foot and a half lower than last year at this time... it was at 7 feet on 5/12/08

When I get back in town I need to research the water level for 2 years ago, plus the rain history of Chicago area since our water ends up down there...We are starting to get hammered up here and our riding areas are crap right now...Last year it was junk too and Mudbug was flooded a month later...

I am not trying to add any drama to the water level situation, but I was in Morgan City on May 2nd and the water was about a foot below the dock and bulkheads at Dorions Launch.

And it's come up a bit since then... but I wouldn't worry. First, there's nothing we can do about it. Second, last year can viewed as a record year. I think it was the 3rd or 4th time in my life time that the locks were opened on the Bonnet Carrie Spillway. Here's what the west side of the levee looked like:

Yesterday's reading was 5.3. I'm thinking as long as the Atchafalaya doesn't top 6. we should be OK. I'm going to research it tho and report back... I do know that it will come up before it goes down. Can anyone tell me if all the snow in the upper valley is completely melted?
