    VP 110 Race gas

Hey guys and gals, there is a local shop up the road from me that sells VP 110 race gas. Only problem is this is a leaded fuel. Is this advisable on out PWC's? I have used this fuel in street/race cars before with no major problems but thought I would ask the question. I am going to be running a MB module for the first part of the season until I can tear into it. I only ask this because he is extremely convenient and reasonably priced. I have access to 100 as well.

    Thanks guys

    Nick

If your shop can get VP 110 leaded, they can any VP Race gas:

I have used 110 leaded for years. I don't fill the tank though you have to mix it with 93 octane. I usually put 6-7 gallons of 110 in the tank and then fill the rest with 93. I have never had any problems running that setup. I also run the MB with his intercooler.

How does it treat your plugs and o2 sensor?

There is no O2 sensor on any Honda.

I haven't noticed any build up or damage.

If you want to use Leaded I recommend mixing it and doing it in moderation. The lead can build up on valve seats, pistons, and spark plugs reducing their life.

Lead is a big no-no for vehicles with 02 sensors or cat converters. As mentioned above - there is no 02 sensor. How about a cat converter?

Have you guys had luck with Torco? I've run this with great success on several turbo vehicles - including an SRT-4 which had a factory "high octane mode" - timing map for fuel at or over 100 octane. The stuff is great and less expensive than a tank of race gas. I do *not* buy into off the shelf octane boosters or snake oil - but this stuff is proven in the turbo community and I've used it quite a bit.

    Ahh.. you're the Nitro guy.
Tried or tested your stuff with Torco?

Another interesting fuel option is to use 100LL (AV gas, available at most small public airports). No road taxes. It IS leaded, so be aware.
