    94 XP

Same story as the 96GSX will not charge. Stator checks ok. Can you check the rectifier. I have a manual but it does not show how to check the rectifier. I have tryed to down load the manuals here with no luck I even joined the file sharing site I'm no computer geek but I get most things easy it just will not allow me to down load those files.
I have not pulled the cover on this one to inspect the stator yet I would like to test the rectifier first if possible.

    Thanks
    Tim

Put a multi-meter on the battery.. Rev the motor, if the voltage increases, the rectifier is fine.. If it stays the same, or drops, then the rectifier is bad...

OEM manuals are at www.seadoomanuals.net for free.

Yes I did that it stays about 12.5 volts and the battery runs down over time.

Put in a different rectifier ran the engine on a water hose and got 13.4 volts. But I think it was hitting the rev limiter no load so I wil get it to the water this week and try it on the trailer first.

    Thanks

Starts and runs but only puts out 13.7 volts is this enough.

    starter problems

I think I need a starter. It cranks sometimes it just stops turning you hit the button a few times it will turn and start. Hard to explain if you bump the starter it will finally start turning so I know the battery is good. So can I have it rebuilt or just buy a new one and the best place to get one.

    Thanks
    Tim
