found 02 waverunner lll for 600

I found 02 waverunner lll 700 for sale for $600 with trailor. the ski runs but has low compression in one cylinder. worth it? will it run with kawa lx? or is 700 just too small eng for this large three seater?

are you sure its an 02? maybe a 1992 model.
If its an 02 and it is not beat to hell its worth fixing at that price.

to the best of my knowledge they did not make a waverunner III in 02, double check that year, the 701 is a very good motor may be under powered with 3 people but if it is a waverunner III they were alot smaller and lighter 3 person than the newer ones

definitely 2002 by the hull identification number. may not be lll, just a waverunner. it is a three seater. looks identical to the pictured ones

ok, clears that up, its a XL700, as i said the 701, what it really is, is 90hp and is a good motor had it in my 94 raider, buddy has same ski (XL760) which is comparable to what u have and it runs great, just not a speed demon thats all, low end is decent hope this helps

To give you an idea it's a mid-high 40 mph ski depending on how much weight it's carrying. 45-48mph. It's not going to keep up with a kawi LX.
The 701 motor is probably the most durable 2 stroke motor out there and very easy to work on.
$600 is a decent deal if you can do the work yourself.
That would be a good, reliable, stable, solid ski for cruising and pulling tubes. It will get boring to ride quickly.

For the money, it's a good deal. But I will second the view that you'll eventually want more power and speed, sharper handling, or both...
