08 STX15F 10 hr service
Just got my ski last fall, have had it out a little last year, and once this year, I have 8hrs on it. how important is the 10hr service and can I do it myself? I would hate to lose my ski for 3 to 4 weeks as the dealers up here get real busy this time of year. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanx in advance! Dave in Milwaukee

I believe its an oil change and an inspection of hoses and clamps...which I would do all of myself...! Change the oil over to a good synthetic, and take a look at everything inside...get to know your ski .......I change the filter every other oil change, but that's just me! Good Luck

Oil Filter Question
Can you use the 250X (Kawasaki 16097-00)filter on the 15f or do you have to use Kawasaki 16097-004?

There is no required published oil change at 10 hours. The first oil change is suggested/recommnded for 50 hours or 1 year by the manufacturer. The 10 hr check is a visual to see what the factory or dealer messed up on. May as well change the oil, the filter can wait until the next oil change. I went almost 35 hours since new for the oil change and ripped open the oil filter-it was clean with no break in debris. Matter of fact the oil didn't look that bad either.
