Carb problems. . . .yes i have read the sticky.

hi, i got my ski in the water for the first time this year today. It idles great and runs pretty good to about 1/4 throttle after that it boggs down and won't go any faster. Once in a while it will bogg for awhile than begin to take off but at about 35 it will bogg again and go no faster just loose RPMs until almost at an idle. Any advice on where to start?

What ski are you working on? Has anything changed since it ran fine last? New fuel? Old fuel? New spark plugs? Any more details will help.

If it is the GTI a check of the rectifier would be in order.

The rectifier is built into the MPEM on the XPL.

It's my old XPL that he bought about a year ago..

Oliver, what are your screw settings at now... Jetting? (I forgot what I had in there), and when you rebuilt the carbs, did you ever check pop-off?

    Do a compression test..

Ummm couldn't tell you what the jetting is at how do i tell??? the high speed screws?? OH $%#%# i knew i did something wrong. I figured that because the rebuild kits only came with one spring i just had to use that one. in other words no i did not check. Should i pull the carbs out again? And as for compression 145 and 143
