Crank welding (13r)
Could anyone post a picture from a welded crank, i`ve searched but i haven`t found it yet.
Who has done the welding job yourself?
Is there anything special to consider?

Out of phase isn't common on the gpr crank... Not worth it, imho, unless you really know what you are doing. The crank will need to be dissasembled to weld it correctly.
Runout on the front snout (not phasing issues), versus the next journal, is the biggest problem with the gpr crank.

is there anything you can do to prevent the runout

Once it is setup correctly, it shouldn't change. One thing, you CAN do, is prevent water intrusion into the engine, as well as make sure your engine idles and runs up as smoothly as possible. Verify your engine/I-shaft alignment is correct. A balanced flywheel wouldn't hurt.
