Anyone had PPG install SC clutch?
How crazy is this...? I've had a Vortech SC impeller since June and have not installed it for fear of opening up the SC housing and making eye contact with the clutch assembly and it failing (that's about how uneasy I feel about what will cause these things to fail). I also bought the Rotax Racing Heavy Duty clutch kit w/ shaft but I don't know if I want to disrupt a solid working stock clutch.
My question...has anyone taken their SC unit out and sent to PPG to have them do these installs and has anyone had a clutch fail that PPG installed?

Chris, you don't have to mess with the clutch to put the SC impeller on.
Go for it!

I know and although I'm being funny, I just felt that even bumping or nicking the washers could be catostrophic. Plus, I want to be able to put both in there like I initially wanted to make it "bullet proof." Just wondering if anyone has had good, solid luck with their PPG install/clutch work.

I sent my S/C off and had the Vortech impeller and the RR HD clutch installed by Glen at the same time for my 04 GTX SC and have had no problems (knock of wood). I spoke with Frazier about the torque specs a few weeks ago and he is still sticking with the 12ftlbs of torque.

Awesome...I think I'm going to just unbolt her and send her in...as soon as there looks to be a stretch of ill weather. It's mid 80's now (whaaaat) in the NW :P

Check with him first. Rendog took his to him almost 2 weeks ago and some parts are on back order. Still waiting.

O.K. so its safe to say installing the Riva Vortech SC impeller will have no effect on the stock clutch. And what you guys are doing is unbolting the supercharger and sending it to PPG to install? How hard is it to install this SC impeller

I've read not hard with the right tools. I'm opting to install the clutch kit while cracking open the SC housing. I have all the parts already, just need to nut up and pull the SC out and mail and wait...weather is too good to part with the SC right now.
