    Jetting 46mm carbs

    While I wait on Pro Tec to get me a dome I have to run a 38cc head/dome setup.

    When I get the 42cc dome I will run them it will save me $2.00 a gallon for gas and give me more reliability.

    After that it wil go back to stock compression to be sold.

    I have a 99GP1200 with a Pro tec C-3 head on it.

    It has stock carbs with stock jetting and adjuster settings.(air box on)

    What jetting changes are needed for now till I get my other dome.

    I do have 46mm carbs with choke remove on a R&D intake I could thow on there and run untill then but I need specs.

    I'm running a set of Buckshot modified 46 mm mikuni's with a Riva ported cylinder. My pop-off was a little too high w/ a 2.0 n/s and 95g spring (ski fell on its face when you'd nail the throttle after riding it hard for 10 mins, did fine when regular riding though). I got some 2.3's to try this year.

    They came with a 125 pilot and a 115 main, then I switched down to a 115 pilot and was picking up rpms up top. Before I really had a chance to tune it (there was a big sandbar party that I wanted to go to bad), I let a buddy of mine ride it to the sandbar and within 5 mins of him never letting off the throttle (not even when airborne), it was done. The cylinders didn't seize, but all 3 of the pistons melted down to the top ring, right in front of the exhaust port.

    That was also with running a manifold that didn't have the cylinder connecting grooves filled it.

    That's been my experience so far. Hope this helps a little.
