    Lake simcoe

I went for a ride holiday monday up the holland river and into cooks bay. lots of debris(big logs and wood) floating and the water was VERY cold but it was good to get out for a first ride !!!!
BTW the water levels seemed about 8" higher than normal

see you on the water !

I've been up the Holland River quite a few times...Nice ride up to Cooks Bay... It was a nice paddle back too the last time when my seadoo motor croaked about 5km up the river =)

Be nice to the fishermen that hang around there...don't rip by them too fast,.. if it wasn't for the help I got that day I wouldn't have made it home before dark

If you ever need someone to ride with around there..give me a buzz! I live around south Aurora.

BTW, towards the end of the this season..the water actually seemed about 18-24" lower when I was launching at South Simcoe Marina.

The water was 24" lower than the start of the season, at least that what the level was reading in the marina I boat out of.

I live just off the Maskinonge river in Keswick, water level is WAY down this year, be carefull in Cooks Bay, Cooks is usually dirtier, up in the big lake its nice though. We actually wakeboard in the Holland River!! Some think its gross, but as long as you dont where white shorts you are fine!! (they turn in to yellow shorts)

Did you manage to water test your Sea-Doo repair?

What is the status of your Genesis i ?

As it turns out..the seadoo died about 5km up the river closer to Lake Simcoe..It was running very well for 15-20 minutes...so I ventured out a bit further... The same thing happened with the new MAG piston that I installed in it.. Upon further investigation.. the oil tank was gummed up, and not allowing enough oil into the oil filter/oil pump. It is almost all back together again for the second time, with brand new oil, a very clean tank, and a new oil filter. Will have to wait until next season for its water test.

The genesis is awaiting a gauge, 3" exhaust pipe, and reverse parts that I ordered.. Should have them all by tomorrow. Worst case scenario...I just only drive it at full throttle..which is usually how I drive anyway, or will throw in a reverse "trick" switch, for those times that I need half throttle =)

As it turns out...the guy I bought the other stuff from...threw in the U hose into the deal. It might make up for the reverse motor not seeming to do anything...will have to try a few things to make it move..before I declare it a write off..

The polaris is just sitting in a storage unit at the moment, hopefully I will have time to get my seadoo back together again for the second time this year. So much for my successful water test...
