RXP vs Modded RXP-X Fuel Consumption

I thought this would be worth sharing, My cousin has a stock 215 RXP and I own a highly modified RXP-X (Riva ecu,50lbs injectors, EXHAUST 15/22 ect). Last week we both ran 70+ miles around the island. We did a mix of hard runs and crusing basicly covering the same distance. When we got back to the dock both skis took exactly 13 gallons to fill up.
It seems as thought the modded RXP-X burns the same amount of fuel as the stock RXP.

Must have been the stock grate??

13 gallons would be about right for 70 miles if you weren't too hard on the throttle, not 3 gallons

    +1. I think it was a typo.
I have seen a stock RXP with just Riva grate consume a full tank of gas when I still had a 1/4 tank left and that was after about 50+ miles. It occurred another time as well when he was completely empty and I still had 1/4 tank. Only thing I can think of is that when you are modified you do not consume so much gas because it takes less throttle to keep up.

No, the stock X grate acts like a break to keep the X's top speed down and increases fuel consuption at the same time. The riva rate like the others improve speed and reduce drag on the X skis. Not sure about the RXP 215.

How much did you spend to mod that RXP-X? I put just a R&D grate on mine and still burn more than an RXP. You better check your numbers again. I can't see how a highly modded RXP-X gets the same fuel economy an RXP gets. And I'm basing this on the 13 gallons you reported not 3.
