looking at a ski for my converison
i am looking at buying a 98gsxl for my x-4 converison. the guy that is selling it says that it has 6hrs on a new motor. he is selling because "after 2hours of running strong last weekend, it started to sputter after 50% throtle." to me sounds like a carb issue. he says it has r&d F/A on it and that it is NOT rejetted for them. he wants $1000 for it without trailor, but i think i can talk him down to $750 or so. so my question is, is this a good deal and what should i look out for? thoughts on the "sputtering"?

blown motor or not $750 would be a good price for a complete blow gsxl...
On the other hand some people say to stay away from the 97 -98 models.
