    cracked hull on GP1200

Hey there i have a gp1200 wich i noticed it has a small crack in the front of the hull its like 6 inches long but not deep u can barely feel it
i was wondering if i would have to fix it could it be done from underneath like from the inside of the hull or should it have to be repaired from the top

the only reason im asking if it can be done from underneath is coz i just painted the whole ski and it would suck that i have to touch the paint again

    thanks

Actually its better and easier to fix it from the inside of the hull. Sand the inner surface with coarse paper (40 or 80), apply fiberglass resin with a thick polyester cloth. No need to polish a perfect finish and you will not damage your paint job.

    Why epoxy?

Aren't the old hulls made of fiberglass?

I would use like for like materials for better adhesion.
I have repaired two hulls with fiberglass and thick cloth, never cracked again....

The 5 to 1 Epoxy probably is the way to go but even up to 2 to 1 will work in a pinch. The SMC is fiberglass "like" but the epoxy is always recommended for repair by the professionals. I think it binds to the old hull better.

but i think i still would have to do something from the top to get rid of the crack maybe groove it and fillitup with gelcoat?
then il have to airbrush it again i guess
