    idleing

Hey guys im new to jetskis i recently bought a 2001 kawasaki ultra 150 with 57 hours on it. i have a few questions.

The idleing rpms are around 3grand out of the water i feel like this is to high am i correct?

when its runing again out of the water in the exhaust there is some light brown discharge would could that be?

    thanks in advance

If idles hight ONLY out of the water, that means there is air leak at the air intake system - too lean.

Light brown discharge is the unburnt fuel/oil residue.

If you look at the end of the f/a where the throttle cable bracket is you should see a black knob that is the idle speed adjustment. Set it for about 1800 out of water that should give you 1200 in water.

1800 out of the water ok....and i do this with the engine on i presume so i can see that its lowering it down. And i figured the brown discharged was the oil/fuel just wanted to make sure that it wasn;t a problem thanks

Yes fire it up and set it for 1800. That discharge is normal especially if it has been sitting. It is just fuel, oil, carbon and water all mixed together. Once it warms up it will stop.
