    Messed up oil change

I mistakenly cranked the motor with the soft rubber suction tube in the dipstick hole. No damage to the tube and engine runs fine now so does anyone think I may have damaged anything?

If the suction tube looks good... I wouldn't worry about it.

Never use that suction hose in a car or truck. I tried it many years ago and the hose turned to taffy because the dip stick tube was so close to the exhaust manifold. After the engine cooled, I was able to get it out, but it was about 3 times longer and maybe only 1/8" in diameter... Ron

Thanks guys. That was a shitty feeling when I realized what I did. All the money, time and effort to get everything perfect on this thing and wind up with a brain fart on the most simple task.

That was on a 1987 Silverado PU truck many years ago. I just didn't want anyone else to have the same problem. The same vacuum pump works great on my Sea Ray's twin 454's and Sea Doo since the exhaust manifolds are water-cooled... Ron
