    Are vent visors useful?

I'm thinking about getting some vent visors for my 05 Xterra SE. I noticed there were two types of vent visors... inchannel being one of them. The other one I'm assuming is just stuck on to the side... which one is better?

    Thanks for the advice!

I have EGR in-channel ones on my Dodge truck.

Well worth the $ as I can leave the windows open some on hot days and not have to worry about rain getting in. Same for dry days and dust.

While driving if I just crack my front d/s window open, I crack the d/s rear window open a bit also. Lets in fresh air while not making a tornado in the cab.

I only use in-channel, some like stick on. With stick on,I hate the look and also the fact I now have something glued onto my truck.

Just my 25 cents, adjusted for inflation.

I find that as a jetskier they are a must. I track a lot of water in the truck while launching. The vents let me keep the windows open to dry it out(no musty smell).

The stick-on are ok but I love my new in-chanel. Its a much better look and cant leak. http://www.autoanything.com/deflectors/60A1739A0A0.aspx

I have to disagree here. I had the #M tape/stick-on ones on the 05 Xterra and loved them... made by Ventshades I believe if I remember correctly.

anyway I also have the in channel ones on the van. road dirt and dust from work gets in the channel, scratches the crap out of the edges of the glass and rattles like a mofo when the window is just cracked open...

Generally how long do the stick on ones typically stay on till they fall off?

The 3m tape that is used on the vent visors will not come off ever. The stuff is industrial. I know of rear projection tv systems that use it to mount the mirror in the back of the tv's. Once it is in place it is hard to remove.
