650 and 750 owners please read

I need assistance. After rebuild, everything runs great, but i noticed that the elbow on the exhaust below the spring loaded engine vibration isolator, where the exhaust turns toward the water box, get super hot. Hot enough to burn the paint off it (see pic) I cannot find a water path to that location. Is this normal? or did i plug the wrong cooling line when I reassembled (I did not block any on purpose)

to me the water path is as follows:

    pump to lower EX manifold
    up through the block
out of the top of the block into the top of the exhaust sleeve
    through the isolation damper
out 2 ports, one into exhaust
    one into top of waterbox

    is this right?

Is there supposed to be a path into the elbow

Hi Sean, (hope i got yer name right bro!)
Heres some pix. I noticed what looked like some bbq'ed pipe in the area you are questioning, I think. Looks like mine gets hot too, if indeed this is the spot.
Just hope this helps. I will have some q's on this ss thing anyways for you soon. Mine runs good but doesn't hook up well.
    Have a good one, Rod.
