    Modified my manifold...

Now that Hallpass's ski is out of my garage, I can finally install a new toy...

Over the winter I got a used manifold to play with. Started to tinker with it and tried to create my own version of a Les Cooke unit. Based on the pictures of them I have seen, I knew I could make it look/flow better.

I started with a 4" half round extrusion. Sliced and diced to what you see here. The entire unit is fully welded, and the contact plate is contoured to promote better airflow. The unit is attached with four threaded rods that were welded on, and is secured with nuts. 3M panel bond expoxy was used to attach it (besides the bolts) and also fill in the gaps. This stuff is ROCK SOLID

Gonna be mounting it this weekend, hopefully get on the water around here...stuff has been flooded out lately.

Flow comparisons are GREAT, the backpressure is virtually 1/3rd that of the OEM w/IC removed. Individual ports numbers are more balanced...but those measurements are AFTER the TB. When the TB is put in place, flow numbers are still good, but more consistant. I can say that the response will be a lot better overall

As far as price to reproduce, I dunno. Its very labor/time demanding, along with a good chunk on the welder fee...but it would be comparable in price to the Les Cooke version. Having a used manifold to work with would be recommended

It's what I want too. I love how clean Jerry's setup is.
