re-building vx110 engine that an oil filter went bad and burnt some of the bearings. riva sells 5 different crank bearings and 4 different rod bearings all color coded. How do i know which bearing was used on this engine?

    bearings

on the 4 stroke motor they use a sleeve type bearing. when you have a faliure in the oil pump or filter and lose oil pressure the bearings can seize to the crank and gouge it . you need to take the crank out and have miked and checked for gouges ( you should be able to see them with you eyes ) if the crank is damaged ( likely ) your michinest will tell you how much the crank will have to be turned down in thousands . you then will need to order over sized bearings ( the different colors ) . when you get your bearing your michinest will fit them to your crank . also very important mark all of your main bearing and your rod bearing caps; so that can be put back on rod or main that they came off of . i would recomend calling these guys .

You need the manual as they are sized based on the block and the crank dimensions from mnufacturing. On the block there are some markings and same on the crank.

There are no yam oversize bearings for regrind cranks the different sizes are for manufacture tolerances.

sorry going by memory as rebuilt a FX160 eng a few years ago.
