05 Pump. Dont believe the hype

Well, My basically stage 2 1200Gpr (minus a couple things) was running 66.5 @ 7280 In nice cool air about three weeks ago. I Was running a 14/20 pitched to 11/18 from my XLL.

I decided to listen to you guys on here and fork out the money for the 05 pump from carl with an out of the box dynafly.

    TODAY:

Hot (92deg) with high humidity. Ski was runnning way fat.

Only had a short time to squeeze in some runs.

The ski went 69.9 consistant @ 7020 with a great holeshot but felt very flat up top (felt rich for the weather almost nozing over).

thats ONLY 3.4 mph....What a waste of time and money....

Theres alot left in it as it sits!! Cant wait to get some time to tune it in better...

You didnt think i was gonna bash the 05 pump did you?

    Thanks Carl and WFO..

No extension. Speeds were at 2/3 fuel.

Gonna slow down and do 1 thing at a time, then fine tune and document.

Ride plate is next, once i get my carbs where i want them. I had them dialed in , but the air was sick today. I guess an aftermarket CDI would help too...Dolp..

I am just amazed at the way the ski feels now.

    It even sounds better! :P

    Thanks again, Will

Your speed gain was from getting rid of that POS 11/18 prop. The
14/20 Dynafly is a great speed prop that works great out of the box.
The pump does nothing for you, it just matches up the prop hub size
    correctly.

I'm not following this statement completely. What you are saying implies that all that is needed to get top speeds is the Dynafly.... that the 05 pump has nothing to do with the speed gain. I could care less if the pump and impeller hub match so long as I were to get the speed gain.

    Please clarify.

i dont care if its the Prop, The pump or the flux capacitor..

I got 3.4 mph from one of em and i'm happy.

What he is saying is that the dynafly is where he saw the gain from, that the pump needed to be changed to accomodate the new O.D. of the dynafly so it could perform and give the gains possible. the dynaflys diameter accomodates the newer pump housing, not the older smaller housing. If you used another prop, even with the 05 pump that the results may not have been so favorable.
